Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 Makes Its Unexpected Debut On Steam

Five Nights at Freddy's 3

The highly anticipated point and click horror game, Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 has unexpectedly released on Steam.

The game now features hallucinations and new defence mechanics for the player to overcome if they are to survive the Five Nights.

Minigames make a return as a major game mechanic in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3. Unlike the minigames in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the player does not need to die in order to trigger them. Instead, they can either trigger the minigames manually (in the case of the Extras games) or play one at the end of each Night, the latter of which advance the story and contain hints on how to trigger the former.

The games official description reads:

“Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza closed it’s doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumour and a childhood memory, but the owners of “Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction” are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin.

At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made…

The attraction now has one animatronic.”

Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 is now available on Steam for $7.99.

WoW Tokens – Blizzard’s In-Game Exchange of Gold and Game Time

wow token

Blizzard have announced their system for trading in-game gold for World of Warcraft game time after hinting to it with the release of Patch 6.1 last month.

The all-new system for the secure trade of gold and game time, in-game between players, will be let loose in the world of Azeroth soon.

Explained in a blog post today, the trading element “WoW Tokens” will be purchasable with real-world money from the in-game store. These can by put up on a new part of the Auction House to be exchanged for gold. The token is only tradable through this Auction House method and the price will be determined by an algorithm Blizzard is keeping under wraps instead of the free market.

Once purchased from the Auction House the “Wow Token” becomes ‘Soulbound’ (no longer tradable) and can be used to redeem 30 days of game time.

wow token explained

Similar systems are in place in other subscription based MMOs such as EVE Online, though in EVE Online the game time token is treated as a freely trade-able commodity.

The WoW Token was created to give players with lots of extra gold the option to use it to help cover their subscription cost, and give those who want to purchase gold a way to do so from fellow players through a secure, easy-to-use system. The Token will be making its debut in an upcoming patch—in the meantime, check out the FAQ below for details on how it works.

Blizzard hopes this system will help drive gold farmers out of business by giving players a secure way to purchase in-game currency.

Pricing details for the “WoW Token” have not been released as of yet or what the estimated exchange rate will be upon launch.

Bonus Zombies, Extra Gore! The Evil Within: The Assignment

Major Next-Gen Horror, The Evil Within, is Set to Spook Players Again with March 10 release of The Assignment DLC

the_evil_within_the_assignment_2
When I heard that The Evil Within was finally getting its additions, I was filled with doubt. I made no secret about the fact that I was supremely underwhelmed by the game.

It wasn’t scary, it forgot to add stealth, and somehow still felt more like Splinter Cell than horror. But I realised that even if I didn’t enjoy the game, slaughtering zombies with an explosive crossbow would still appeal to many. Those are the people to whom this DLC will appeal.

The Evil Within Assignment

The promise of more hasn’t exactly inspired me. Bethesda have released a trailer for the upcoming expansion to The Evil Within. The Assignment is the first of two additions that allow players to take on the role of Juli Kidman – the protagonist’s partner from the main game.

Kidman’s story will finally fill in many of the holes from the title. I know I was asking myself where the hell she happened to piss off to throughout the game. She only turned up when she needed rescuing and promptly she would disappear again. Hopefully playing through The Assignment and its follow-up pack The Consequence will answer some of the audience’s questions.

The Evil Within Assignment 3

A 1-minute long trailer showcases some new enemies and teases new mysterious horrors. Axes, chases, monsters, laboratories, and a shadowy figure with an ominous voice. All staples of the genre. The Assignment ticks the boxes so far; but, then again, so did the trailers of The Evil Within itself.

For gamers keen to get their scare on, The Assignment will be available on the tenth of March. For anyone still undecided, totally check out the trailer below.

If that’s not enough for you, Bethesda will be running a livestream of The Assignment on their twitch channel on March 6, 4pm E.T.
