You still have some unfinished business in the Bloodshot Stronghold, so we’ll be making another trip back to the bandit base. If you remember when you went looking for the Splinter Group, there were a couple of bandits giving a Hyperion loader a beat down. After killing the bandits you should have approached the broken down bot and grabbed his AI core. Now, loader 1340 would like you to move his AI core to a new body and in return he promises not to kill you. Preferably, in a Hyperion constructor on the ramparts of the stronghold.
Fight your way to the Bloodshot Ramparts. Not far from the steps you come out on you’ll find the constructor 1340 spoke of. Install his AI core into the constructor and the machine will come to life…and try to kill you. Several EMP loaders will come charging towards you from behind the behemoth.
Stay as far away from them as you can and shoot them before they explode. Use a good corrosive weapon to take down the constructor quickly. When the constructor is destroyed pick up 1340’s AI core again. He apologizes for trying to kill you and asks you to take him to another defunct robot to plug him into.
This time it’s a WAR loader found around the center of the ramparts. Install him into the bot and it springs to life. Seems like 1340 is better at breaking his promises than keeping them. He starts attacking you again with some GUN loaders and repair units by his side. Once again simply use a good corrosive weapon to kill him quickly again.
When it’s destroyed, pick up 1340’s AI core again. He pleads to you he no longer wishes to kill and asks you to install him into a radio in Sanctuary.
Fast travel to Sanctuary and head to Moxxi’s bar. There’s a radio on the other end of the bar. Place 1340’s AI core into the radio and he seems to be at peace. Then, in one final attempt to kill you, he plays the most god awful music you can think of. Shut him up with a single shot from your gun.
Since none of this is working out he decides to let you decide what to do with him. Turn in this quest to either Zed for a shield or Marcus for an awesome gun. Either one is made from 1340’s AI core so expect a lot of unnecessary talking from either one you make. Enjoy.
Item: random shield or shotgun
