New Character and Super Smash Sales

Want To Have a Super Smash Bros. Character Marathon Before Getting the Game for 3DS?

Nintendo Have You Covered.

Lets get this out the way first. I know you’re here mostly to find out which new character was announced. It’s bound to cause some mixed feelings in the Super Smash Bros. community. Meta Knight, favoured by many, scorned by the rest, is joining Kirby and King Dedede on their Warp Star trip from Dreamland. Though he may be taking the Halberd, which has been confirmed as a stage for the Wii U version of the game.

Meta Knight was widely considered the best character by far in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and was sometimes banned in tournaments. Despite this, it’s good to see him back, filling out the Kirby roster in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Fortunately, it seems that he has met with the nerf bat and should be better aligned with other characters.

The real exciting news, however, is the announcement of two week-long sales on the Nintendo eShop to get players in the mood before Super Smash Bros. officially hits the 3DS.

The sales are themed around newcomers to the series (14/8 – 21/8) and veteran fighters (22/8 – 28/8). Over these two weeks, a total of 25 games will be on sale and is a perfect excuse to stock up on some games you may have wanted for a while and have your own marathon.

Nintendo have only released the list of games for the newcomer sale. They will announce the veteran fighter games on sale closer to the date. The full list of what’s on sale, head on over to the Super Smash Bros. Facebook page or the Nintendo eShop.

The sales are across both consoles (3DS and Wii U) as characters are coming from both. For example, Wii Fit U and Animal Crossing New Leaf are two quality games that have had their prices dropped for the event.
