Tune In for Mental Health Month with ‘Crossing the Streams’ Event

During Mental Health Month, Non-Fiction Gaming will be raising money for Beyond Blue

Starting Friday 1st October we’ll be kicking off a special event across Twitch and YouTube with some of our friends.

‘Crossing the Streams’ brings together members of Non-Fiction Gaming, Raging Rolls, Fate’s Grip and Split the Party to raise money for Beyond Blue.

We’ll be changing up our Dungeons & Dragons livestream shows to do special crossovers, donation incentives and even viewer giveaways!

All to work towards raising awareness for Mental Health Month and raising funds for the Beyond Blue charity.

This month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help seeking behaviours when needed.

The Theme for Mental Health Month is: Tune In

  • Tuning In means being present, being aware of what’s happening within you, and in the world around you.
  • Tune In to your senses – what can you sense right now? What can you feel?
  • Tune In to your communities – what’s happening that you can be part of, or that you can help others be part of?
  • Tune In to stigma – how do attitudes and understandings of mental health and wellbeing impact people’s ability to live the lives they want?

Taking a moment to Tune In can help still and focus your mind, it can help you understand what’s going on for you and others. Tuning in can help you find a new perspective, and it can help you reflect and be present.

Tuning In has been shown to help build self-awareness, help make effective choices, reduce the impact of worry, and build positive connections. Tuning In to communities and the impact of mental health stigma can help ensure that people who need support have safe places to talk about their experiences and reach out.

Tune In to Mental Health Month and help create a world we can all Tune In to.

Raising Money for Beyond Blue

Funds raised during the ‘Crossing the Streams’ event will be going to Beyond Blue. As we get closer to the date we will be throwing donation incentives up but I urge you to commit to action now.

Beyond Blue works to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and suicide prevention, reduce the stigma surrounding these issues and to encourage people to seek support when they need it.Donate

Crossing the Streams

We will be playing an assortment of tabletop and video games over the 24 hours and I will gladly take suggestions if they’re accompanied with a donation.

I know that each of you taking the time to read this will do what they can to help support this cause. Any support you can provide is valuable including donations, sharing, and words of encouragement.

We will be providing updates as we get closer to the event itself and part of the event will be livestreamed/recorded so you can take part and provide challenges.
