The League of Legends OPL Grand Finals in Luna Park
The 2015 Oceanic Pro League (OPL) will come to an epic conclusion today (Saturday 8th August) at Luna Park Sydney with the Grand Final broadcast live from the Big Top.
But if you’re like us and can’t get to Sydney we’ve got you sorted. From 5:00pm AEST you can tune in below to watch the Grand Final Live.
Oceania’s two best teams, Chiefs and Legacy will go head to head for the Split 2 Championship. The last time these two teams faced off was on July 2nd with Chiefs taking the win 1-0. The Chiefs are currently the favourites to win as they haven’t dropped a game this season. Although Legacy is a tough team to put down in a best of 5 format and may be able to outlast the Chiefs if they have more games to fall back on.
Both teams have put up a great fight this season and are considered ‘veterans’ within this new Oceanic league. The Chiefs were crowned Split 1 champions in April this year and Legacy triumphantly took out last year’s winter season.
It will all come down to who has the guts and skill on the night. The winner of the Grand Final will head to the International Wildcard Qualifier in Istanbul, Turkey, where they will need to beat Japan, Turkey and South East Asia to get a shot at the World Championship.
Those who are heading down to Luna Park can get in from 11:00am AEST to enjoy free League of Legends community activities setup across the entire park, including Pro-player Q&A and signings, Cosplay competitions, Champion-themed games on Lavender Green and more!
Entry into Luna Park is free and a discounted rides tickets can be bought online or a standard price ticket can be bought at the Box Office in the park on the day.
We will be heading down to HYOTS in Highpoint Victoria to watch the match live in a sold out cinema. If you’re here watching and keen to keep up to date with the conversation by using the hashtag #IAMOPL.
