DreamHack Melbourne Set for 2022

For the majority of Australian’s Dreamhack is an event that normally slips under their radar. Normally held overseas, there has been little reason for people to get excited about it. That is set for a major change in 2022.

DreamHack Melbourne is finally on the horizon, with a September 2022 date confirmed for the major event. Melbourne will be the first place in the Southern Hemisphere to host the event. DreamHack Melbourne will have the largest range of eSports and gaming content at an Australian event ever. Surpassing the likes of PAX and EB Cons of the past. We are being treated to professional tournaments in League of Legends (LCO Split 2 Grand Final), Halo Infinite (HCS ANZ Regional), and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (ESL Challenger #50). There will also be a large Bring-Your-Own-PC (BYOPC) LAN.

For those who are excited about this news and wanting to attend, the event will run across three days, September 2nd, 3rd and 4th, with tickets going on sale in February on the official website. Price and availability of tickets will be available ahead of time, so you can get your wallet ready ahead of time.

No venue has been confirmed, so it may be a while before you can actively book accommodation. With such a large line-up, you can expect that it’ll be taking place in a rather large venue. Yet Fortress Melbourne is one we would be keeping our eyes on.

We will be keeping up to date with any further announcements.
