Diablo III came out a few years ago providing us with the addictive loot fest we hadn’t seen in nearly a decade since Diablo II was released. Despite the still wonderful gameplay Diablo III ran into numerous issues with its always online status and difficulties with its Auction House.
Thankfully, Blizzard took the time to correct all these issues and brought the game to next-gen consoles with all of its current content in the Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition.
With Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition coming to next-gen consoles you would expect the greater power would show some improved graphics. In some small ways the visuals have improved. They’re not a massive upgrade from the original, but it looks far more crisp on a PS4 than it does on a PS3 or Xbox 360 versions.
Looting and leveling are as addictive as ever. Without the pain of being always online gameplay remains uninterrupted. Getting online with friends is still easy as well as fun, though if you’re still looking to get online. Also, once you’ve completed all five acts of the main campaign Adventure mode will open up, allowing you to explore all the regions of all five acts, collect bounties and open Nephalem Rifts.
Bounties and rifts makes reaching high levels with your character fresh and entertaining instead of having to constantly run through the main campaign over and over again.
Skill use on a controller works seamlessly and never feels uncomfortable. You can unleash attacks without ever having to worry about the controller in your hand.
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition has a few issues, but they are mostly unnoticeable. Sorting through your inventory can be a tad bit annoying. Your items are sorted into a wheel with your items listed under each category. Since there is no particular order to your collection, so items can get lost under your pile of stuff. You can still find your stuff, but it would be great if the item list made a bit more sense.

If you didn’t dig Diablo III when it first came out on consoles The Ultimate Evil edition may actually win you back thanks to Blizzard putting in the work to smooth out its problems. I don’t how I got bored playing this game the first time around, but I’m very glad I picked it up again and put in as many hours as I did with it.
