Resident Evil Creator Brings True Survival Horror to Consoles and PC in August
Horror fanatics and gamers who stockpiled changes of fresh underwear at the January sales may very well be cheering now as The Evil Within was given an official release date.
Well in time for Halloween, the Tango Gameworks title is scheduled for an Australian/New Zealand release on August 28. North America receives the game on the 26th and European players will see it on the 29th. This should give plenty of time for you to play it and invite a few squeamish friends for a laugh at their expense.
Last year, Non-Fiction Gaming brought you the gameplay trailer for the new arrival survival horror title and The Evil Within looks as exciting now as it did then. Indeed, as we eke out more details, the game seems to be shaping up nicely.
If the gruesome images and promise of “true survival horror” are not enough to put August 28 on your calendars, get your pen out now because director Shinji Mikami has stated that this will be the last game he directs. As the creator of the Resident Evil series, his portfolio speaks for itself. Mikami too has expressed disappointment at recent horror releases being “action horror” and claims The Evil Within will be different.
With no new videos to feed our hunger, we will have to resign to a few of the newer screenshots to satiate our appetite for information.
