 Gametrailers have released during their E3 2013 All Access LIVE feed with Castlevania Lords of Shadow Producer Dave Cox, an 8 minute gameplay video of Mercury Streams upcoming platformer sequel to Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2.
The demo takes place in Dracula’s Castle as the Prince of Darkness who was once Garbiel Belmont, a member of the Brotherhood of Light, whom saw the demise of the Lords of Shadow and Satan himself, deals with his once honored brotherhood as they come to see his demise. Although the game is supposed to be set in the modern era, Cox clarifies with Gametrailers that a little bit of back and forth time travel will be included in the game to explain the titles lead up to the epilogue witnessed at the end of Lords of Shadow.
During Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 ‘s eight minute showcasing, the demo unveiled insightful new elements as to how gameplay has greatly advanced for the better since its original title.
Castlevania Lord Of Shadow 2 will be more of an enjoyable hack and slash rather than a strategical title, although there may be circumstances where a bit of strategizing may be necessary, especially for boss battles and some elite enemies.
New weapons were showcased including the main combat weapon called the Blood Whip which replaces Gabriel’s original whip in Lords of Shadow.
Other weapons include the Void Sword, a summoning sword that replenishes Dracula’s health with each strike and the Chaos Claws which allows Dracula to bypass enemy defenses.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 will also include a free camera system rather than a fixed camera system, which will probably be more flexible and achieve a more satisfying gaming experience for players.
As well new abilities such as finishers are included, the main one being what I call Dracula’s Bite, a finisher that replenishes health and provides some stamina for certain abilities, since some abilities included in the game will be powered by blood.

Platforming has also improved, Dracula is able to move across obstacles faster by quickly scouring up platforms giving a quicker gaming experience, as well as a new highlight system that guides the player in traveling in the right direction, which both are necessary since Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 has adapted to anew open world setting making it larger and enhancing the players overall exploration experience, which will also include more areas and more secrets.
The demo also debuted new enemies to the Lord of Shadows series such as soldiers of the Brotherhood of Light and an elite boss called a Golden Paladin, which is an elite holy warrior that resembles an over buffed golden angel.
Castlevania Lords of Shadows 2 is expected to be released sometime in Winter, which will be Australia’s summer, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It is still yet to be confirmed whether it will be included for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Konami have also released the official Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 trailer for E3 2013, which sees the welcome of several new characters as well as familiar faces including the vampire Alucard and the necromancer Zobek. Patrick Stewart and Robert Carlyle will return to reprise their roles as Dracula and Zobek.
