Developer, Bethesda Softworks dropped their latest trailer to show off the ‘Character System’ and specifically ‘Perks’ and how they have changed in the latest iteration of the acclaimed Fallout series, Fallout 4.
Showing off an array of new perks, the trailer showcases the game’s new features and abilities, and how they will permit players to forge new weapons, and compose illicit new settlements in which traders may reside.
The new Perk system of Fallout 4 has now merged with the skill system of previous games. There is no level cap, and the game proceeds forever even after finishing the main storyline.
There are a total of 70 perks, with 275 ranks, and the player is able to choose one perk every level. Perks no longer have level nor skill requirements, instead the 70 perks are divided up into groups of 10 under each of the 7 SPECIAL stats, with each of the perks requiring a different value for that stat, from 1 to 10.
For those who have not been following the title’s coverage, Fallout 4 will see gamers traverse the desolate remnants of post nuclear Boston. Players will have access to new weapons and abilities, in order to quell the vile mutants that inundate Boston, and build up a thriving new community.
Fallout 4 launches Nov. 10, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Check out the Fallout 4 compared with Fallout 3 side by side.
