PlayStation 4 Here It Cometh

What a year 2013 is turning out to be for gamers around the world. PlayStation 4 has been announced and is now underway to making its debut later this year. A killer game release schedule is set for this year, as well as the possibility of Microsoft’s next generation console. Who says thirteen is an unlucky number?

However, the main spot light of the press is focused on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4, which was recently discussed at a PlayStation 4 announcement event held in New York last week. Although discussed, the PS4 was not revealed and is still yet to have its hardware design finalized.

Sony President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida apologized to gamer’s at the event saying:

‘’I’m sorry we did not show the hardware, but we have plans from now – in February- through the year for the launch. We like to disclose things based on what we think we really want to communicate first. And next time we will talk about these things. If Sony had shown off a PS4 unit last night, it would not have been a representative of the final design.’’

Although the unit was unable to be displayed at the event, Shuhei Yoshida was able to explain to the attending media a little more about the upcoming console, giving them a minor slice of what to expect.

Continuing the tradition, the PlayStation 4 will not be using the DualShock 3, therefore it will have its own upgraded controller the DualShock 4.

The so-called ‘Block Software rumor’ has been scratched out as Sony confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will be able to play pre-owned games.

However as the current gen platform is unable to play PS2 games the same concept will apply to the PlayStation 4.
