Penny Arcade’s Acquisitions Incorporated Expands to Card Hunter

Card Hunter: Acquisitions Incorporated
If you’re a fan of Dungeons & Dragons or Penny Arcade you may have heard of Acquisitions Incorporated.

For the uninitiated, Penny Arcades’ Acquisitions Incorporated is the D&D group consisting of Omin Dran (Jerry Holkins), Jim Darkmagic (Mike Krahulik) and Binwin Bronzebottom (Scott Kurtz) that usually play live during PAX.

The fictional adventures of Penny Arcade’s Acquisitions Incorporated, a massive attraction at PAX events for the past eight years, are coming to the popular PC CCG Card Hunter.

Card Hunter uses the combination of ‘Decks’ and a Tabletop to play a Dungeons and Dragons-esque game. It’s available on steam and can be played competitively, Co-operatively and Solo.

The humour in Card Hunter is spot on with references to fantasy tropes and self-awareness of D&D stereotypes.

The addition of the light-hearted, don’t take this too seriously, Acquisitions Incorporated team as an expansion looks to tick all the right boxes.

“Penny Arcade’s Acquisitions Incorporated is happy to announce its latest franchise venture – a crossover expansion with the popular online CCG Card Hunter.”

Players will be able to adventure as Acquisition Incorporated’s Omin Dran (Jerry Holkins), Jim Darkmagic (Mike Krahulik) and Binwin Bronzebottom (Scott Kurtz) in an original series that was written by the PAX series’ Dungeon Master, Jerry, all within the card/board game hybrid’s system.

PAX East attendees will also be able to see Acquisitions Incorporated panel on Sunday, April 24 at 1 pm in the Main Theater.

Acquisitions Incorporated’s Omin Dran (Jerry Holkins), Jim Darkmagic (Mike Krahulik) and Binwin Bronzebottom (Scott Kurtz) have been thrilling and amusing audiences with their acquisitive antics at PAX since 2008. Though there’s no mention of Viari (Patrick Rothfuss) or Aeofel Elhromane (Wil Wheaton), the original trio of Omin the Cleric, Jim the Wizard and Binwin the Fighter fit perfectly into the existing Card Hunter roles.

If you’ve listened to the previous adventures of Acquisitions Incorporated on the Dungeons and Dragons Official Podcast or watched their live games on Youtube, you’ll know how weird and fun the game can be.

As part of this expansion, players can take control and play through an original series of Acquisitions Incorporated adventures written by Jerry and realised by the Card Hunter team in their unique card/board gaming hybrid.

“Acquisitions Incorporated is the fastest growing adventuring franchise across all planes of existence” stated AI’s CEO, Ominifis Dran.

“I can neither confirm nor deny that our first adventures in Cardhuntria may include working as hired muscle at a wedding, defending our new office against invaders from the negative energy plane and shopping for my own tombstone”.

These three new adventures are available now in Card Hunter for just $5.99 and include Omin, Jim and Binwin figures as well as one month’s Card Hunter Club membership.

PAX East attendees can see Acquisitions Incorporated in-action during the panel on Sunday, April 24 at 1 pm in the Main Theater.
