Hotline Miami 2 Banned in Australia

hotline Miami 2

Top down shooter Hotline Miami 2: The Wrong number has been refused classification by the Australian Classification Board, rendering it banned in the country.

The Board put out a statement to try and clear up any misconceptions, games that “depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified.”

Despite the fact that Hotline Miami 2 has been refused by Australian Classification the original Hotline Miami game did eventually get a 15+ rating.

Hotline Miami 2 Release Window Revealed

Hotline Miami 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the intense top down shooter released on PC 2012. Information on the game has been very scarce, but now a vast amount of enticing new information has been released to the public regarding the games release date and a very unique collectors edition.

The Hotline Miami 2 collectors edition will contain various game related products but for me the most enticing is the game’s soundtrack on vinyl. These records will contain each of the games 28 songs, there will also be a phone card that harbours a digital download code for the soundtrack.

“Featuring music from returning Hotline Miami artists including: M|O|O|N, El Huervo and Perturbator — as well as artists new to Hotline Miami 2: Megadrive, and Magic Sword. The vinyl set also includes a custom phone card containing a download code for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number and the full digital soundtrack via Steam (Mac, Windows, Linux).”

The collectors edition will retail at $60 and will be available alongside the full game that is releasing in the first quarter of 2015. You can pre-order the collectors edition here.
