Tekken 7 Gameplay Trailer
The king of the Ironfist Tournament – Tekken, is back with new characters and new gameplay which is getting the Twelve year old me so very excited and also grown up me some incentive to get a next generation console.
Releasing next year in Japan arcades we can assume that the title will hit our shores somewhere later in the year. For now all we can do is satisfy out Tekken 7 thirst with some nice looking gameplay footage from Bandai Namco Games.
Tekken 7 will have two new fighting mechanics:
- Rage Art – This allows players to execute moves that are unblockable but deal reduced damage once their health bar is in the critical range.
- Power Rush – Lets the player continue their attacks while being hit by the enemy, this will make for interesting bloodbath matches with very little turtling.
Along with the new features, Tekken 7 unveils two new characters, Katarina and Claudio. The two new characters seem to be capable of ranged attacks which may change the direction of Tekken has a mainly hand to hand combat system.
Tekken 7 will be the first in the series to take advantage of the Unreal Engine 4, which means the current generation consoles may not be seeing this one and could mean a PS4/Xbox one exclusive.
The release of the next Tekken game coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Tekken series which makes us all feel so incredibly old.
