Newegg Shipping Locally With Australian Distributors From Monday

NewEgg Pax Australia 2015

US-based online retailer Newegg will begin shipping directly from Australian distributors the Monday after PAX, with a local warehouse expected to open soon.

The computer hardware (and a bit of software) retailer has had Australian pricing since 2014 however would ship everything from US warehouses.

Newegg has grown popular amongst gamers and DIY PC builders around the world with their range of over 20 Million products.

In an interview with Non-Fiction Gaming, James ‘Jim’ Merk, Director of Brand Marketing at Newegg, stated that they will be bringing 50,000 products to Australia thanks to partnerships with local distributors like MSI. While this isn’t quite close to the 20 Million, Merk is confident they’ll continue to grow these product lines through 2016.

Part of the expansion ‘Down Under’ may involve the addition holiday sales that Australians can relate to, such as Australia Day or Queen’s Birthday. Though don’t be surprised if other cultures’ holidays creep in like, ‘Singles Day’

In the quiet meeting room above the chaos of PAX Aus, Merk explained the moment Newegg discovered a significant portion of their customers were Aussies and how the retailer wants to help their customers, ‘Game like a pro’.

You’ll be able to see the full interview with James Merk once we’ve got the footage edited. Until then make sure you’re checking in on us for more PAX news.
