Final Fantasy VII is Back! Check Out The Trailer for This HD Remake

Final Fantasy VII remake

Get out your hair gel and shine up your giant swords, the Final Fantasy VII HD Remake gets a bit closer with this new trailer.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Square Enix show off a bit of gameplay along with the updated cinematics. Perhaps we will see a resurgence of Final Fantasy VII cosplay as we get nearer to the launch on PS4.

You can watch the new trailer below.

The footage shown in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer is work in progress footage so there’s a chance the final game will look a little different.

In an announcement from Dan Seto, Square Enix Community Manager says,

“Final Fantasy VII is a very special game to me and I’m sure it is to a lot of gamers around the world, too. The reaction from fans across the globe when Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced at the PlayStation press conference at E3 2015 was unprecedented! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it, so I hope you like what you see in the new trailer. I know I do and I can’t wait to see more.

One other thing that was announced at PlayStation Experience 2015 is that the original version of Final Fantasy VII is available today on PS4 via PlayStation Store! It comes complete with a list of Trophies to earn.”

You can see a number of familiar scenes from the original, though the scene with Cloud cross-dressing is notably absent. There’s no doubt the Final Fantasy VII Remake is getting old school fans excited.

Will you be playing FF7 Remake on PS4 when it launches?

  1. I thought the trailer was rather limited from the opening of the original game to Cloud jumping off the platform after fighting Shinra soldiers. So we know the bombing of the Mako Reactor scene and boss fight will be done well. There is a still a great deal of mystery. I was also reading on TheVerge and IGN that it will be a multi part game. Thought that was a bit odd. But I will be buying day one I picked up the original on PS4 over the weekend. Fun to go back so I now own the game on PS1, PS1 Classics on the PS3/PSP, iPad, and now PS4. I guess I can buy another copy again love that damn game.
