Developer, Platinum Games, has revealed that the latest instalment in the ongoing Nier series will be titled Nier Automata, alongside a range of new screenshots, and a short gameplay trailer.
“Nier struck a chord with many passionate gamers. It was something so special that we felt compelled to heed the fans’ call for a follow-up,” producer Yosuke Saito said in a press release. “To create the ultimate action-RPG, it dawned on me that a collaboration between Platinum Games and Square Enix would be a dream come true.”
Originally revealed at E3 2015, it was stated that Platinum Games would possess developmental lead regarding all aspects of the project, which is yet to obtain a release date.
For those who are unaware, Near saw gamers traverse the dark plains of the future, in which players were imbued with a range if new abilities, in order to thwart the planet’s Ethereal monsters, and survive.
