No Single-Player For Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 On Last Gen Consoles

Developer, Treyarch has released a statement that the latest iteration in their acclaimed military shooter, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not offer a single-player campaign on older generation consoles.

Revealed via the Call Of Duty blog on Friday, Activision announced that despite profuse efforts to carry out the mode, older generation consoles did not harbour the power that the title’s campaign craved.

“The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player co-op campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware,” Activision explains. Instead, the game will only feature multiplayer and zombie modes, and no campaign at all. It isn’t the only cut, either. “Fans should note that other features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new weapon paint shop and the new suite of e-sports tools will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops III for PS4, Xbox One, and PC,” the publisher says. The last-gen version will be $10 cheaper and come with a voucher for the original Black Ops.

For those who haven’s been following the title’s recent press coverage, Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 will see gamers traverse the war-torn plains of the USA, in which players will be imbued with a slew of robotic capabilities, in order to quell the hijacked androids that inundate the globe, and thwart all that pertain to their capture.
